One thing to settle first about Taoyuan Tourist Night Market: it opens every day. That's precious in Taoyuan — Bade's Xingren checks its market days, Zhongli's Xinming checks the calendar, while this one at the Zhongzheng Rd / Beipu Rd corner runs Monday to Friday 5pm to midnight and Saturday–Sunday to 1am, per on-site notice. On a spur-of-the-moment night, it's Taoyuan's surest answer.
Location: mid-Zhongzheng Rd, neither station nor Arts District
Locals' first warning is geography. The market sits mid-way along Zhongzheng Rd — about twenty minutes on foot north of TRA Taoyuan, about the same south of the Arts District; buses run often along Zhongzheng Rd, a few stops. Don't navigate to "Taoyuan night market" and assume it's by the station — that's a separate district; the market is further north.
How to walk it: two ends in, one end out
The market spreads across the blocks beside Zhongzheng Rd, about two hundred stalls across food, games and goods. The local method: walk the main aisle once without stopping, turn back and lock onto three stalls, then do the games belt. NT$50–100 a stall, three or four items, NT$200–300 and you're full. Any queue over fifteen minutes usually has the same category within twenty metres — unless that stall is the reason you came.
Friday and Saturday 8–10pm is peak, you wait to walk; weekdays before 7 or after 10 are easiest.
Parking: the only pain point
Street bays along Zhongzheng Rd are scarce at night and the market's own lot is often full after 7 on holidays. The rule: arrive before 6:30 and you'll park; after 7:30, park in the outer lanes and walk, or ride a scooter. If you plan to drink, don't bring the car — everything below involves alcohol.

South toward the station: King Bistro Bar on the 2nd floor of No. 306 Zhongzheng Rd, 900+ reviews at 4.9, the nearest drink on the road; Holiday KTV Taozhong at No. 366 (1,700+) for singing. North into the Arts District: Milu Bistro at No. 1373, 2,400+ reviews at five stars, and Judaime Yakitori Izakaya at No. 1405 (800+) — the Arts District has Taoyuan's highest bar density, and the Taoyuan bar list lines them up.

Getting home
TRA Taoyuan's last train is around midnight — head south by 11:30 if you're taking it; after that, taxi or designated driver, rides are quick in Taoyuan District.
